Abbey College Manchester is expanding its highly innovative Combined Studies Programme, following its resounding success.
Offering a unique and exciting pathway to a university degree, the city centre-based college has extended the number of partnerships with leading establishments across the UK by 50% since the programme’s launch. Much-coveted places are now offered at six universities, Aston, Chester, Keele, Teesside, Plymouth and University of Dundee.
Proving hugely popular due to its modular format and termly exams with a re-sit option built in, the Combined Studies Programme is welcomed as an alternative to the traditional two-year linear A-Level.
The course consists of two optional subject strands with topics to be chosen from Business, Creative Arts, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Humanities and Science, and also places a heavy emphasis on building key skills pivotal for degree success with a compulsory unit.
Principal at Abbey College, Liz Elam said: “We are delighted that the Combined Studies Programme is becoming an increasingly popular option at the college and that we are now able to offer pathways to a degree at additional leading universities across the UK.
By providing this practical and distinctive option that is unique to the college, we are able to widen participation and inclusion which is paramount to getting the best out of each and every student, enabling them to thrive. We are excited to continue building on this programme further and seeing our students progress.”
