My Birthday

Another year passes by and yes it is true, as you get older the years come around much quicker!

Last year. Last year.

I celebrated my birthday alongside my family and close friends, a big contrast to last year when I shared it with more than 100 guests at home but, of course, due to prevailing Covid-19 rules we are all being a lot more careful.

The Unwelcome Visitor

‘Though we have come a long way this crippling, debilitating, often terminal illness is still shockingly misunderstood. This is my story that you have asked me to tell. Those who suffer from depression will understand and those who don’t will’

Denise Welch has released her fifth book, The Unwelcome Visitor, based on her own struggle with clinical depression which went straight to No 1 on the best seller list on amazon.

Denise described it to me as being a very honest read and that her main goal is to help others. She is also a big supporter of, and an ambassador for, the charity MIND.

Mental health is at the forefront of the news helped by ‘Heads Together’, a mental health initiative spearheaded by The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, which combines to tackle stigma linked to, and to change the conversation on, mental health issues.

Keep talking!

Sun, Sea & Sangria

We did not envisage going abroad at all this year with lockdown suppressing most of what is normal in our lives, so it was a welcome surprise to be able to fly to the Algarve for a few weeks to relax and see friends. We lived there for five years when the kids were younger before making the move back to the UK in 2009.

It remains a second home for us with many close friends still living there and we booked to go to celebrate Hugh Carters 60th birthday, but due to lockdown rules his big party had to be cancelled.

However, we still managed to celebrate and spend time with Hugh and friends.

All for Charity

Tricia Penrose & Gaynor Morgan, featuring Steve Norman from Spandau Ballet

Our charity single covering the song ‘You To Me Are Everything’ by The Real Thing is out and available for download on all the usual platforms via the link below and we are so delighted with the outcome of the track which has been a huge team effort!

We were lucky enough to have world class producer Pete Hammond come on board who has given the song a slightly modern twist whilst keeping it as close to the original as possible. Pete was part of the Pete Waterman, Stock Aitken, Waterman team.

Greg Morton, a musician, producer and close friend offered us his studio and expertise to lay down our vocals and the icing on the cake came when my friend, Steve Norman from Spandau Ballet, agreed to join us on the track; whose sax solo in the hit song ‘True’ has remained an iconic sound played all around the world, giving it a completely unique sound and making it something very special.

Please help us to raise as much money for these well-deserved charities, Beechwood Cancer Care Centre, The Roy Castle Lung Foundation, and Breast Cancer Now.

We hope you love it!
