The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, was joined by 350 guests and its Patrons at its Tropicana Ladies Lunch event on at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa recently. A record-breaking £60,000 was raised which will help the charity provide holidays for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over our region.
Tempting tropical cocktails welcomed the ladies before they were invited to indulge in a spot of shopping organised by CAFT volunteer Carol Robinson. A huge range of stalls offered everything from perfume, jewellery and handbags through to clothing, beauty products and candles.
Host, Paul Sleem, kept the ladies entertained throughout a lively day of fun, including fun games of Hit or Miss and a fabulous limbo competition. His helpers Freddie and Connor were on hand throughout the afternoon, selling bars of chocolate donated by NEXT in one of the charity’s signature special raffles – the lucky winner of which (Colette Olivi) went away with a stunning $14,500 Princess Diana handbag designed by, and donated by, Lana Marks.
Once the fundraising was over, George Michael Tribute Robert Taylor entertained the ladies with his amazing vocals, filling the dancefloor for the remainder of the event.
