One size doesn’t fit all… especially on the high street.
This month I had a revelation…. my partner took three pairs of suit trousers to our local tailor, Golden Stitches in Altrincham, to turn them from a slightly old fashioned straight leg, to a more trendy tapered leg.
It was quick, we dropped them in on Saturday and they were ready by Thursday, reasonable, £39 for three suit trousers, and the fit was perfect. The end result….three (seemingly) new suits.
One wardrobe detox later and armed with one maxi dress that is just a fraction too long (however high my heels), a tunic-style dress that I adored but could only find in a size medium (one size too big), and a gorgeous jumpsuit that had the wrong type of sleeve (floaty and long, whereas I prefer short and tapered), I marched down to Golden Stitches.
Three days later and these much-loved pieces have been given a whole new lease of life and my summer wardrobe suddenly has more options as a result.
