Geography and physics students from Manchester High School for Girls have just returned from a trip of a lifetime to Arizona and Nevada, putting their studies into practice and experiencing some of the USA’s most extraordinary scenery.
They visited the majestic Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest National Park, where they enjoyed a stroll through the ancient Giant Logs trail and examined a breath-taking meteor crater formed 50,000 years ago.
They also visited Sedona in Arizona, Lowell Observatory, one of the oldest observatories in the US, and explored Las Vegas on their final day.
