Archaeology Week – Free event

Middlewich eventMiddlewich Town Council is joining forces with Cheshire Libraries and Heritage Lottery Fund to complete a new exhibition in Middlewich Library.

We are taking part in Archaeology Week run by the Council for British Archaeology, a special event to help us achieve our goals of having a new exhibition space and ‘virtual museum’ website. Come along and join in, activities for all ages, be a part of the changes happening in Heritage at Middlewich.Middlewich-2

Friday 24th July 9.30am – 5pm and Saturday 25th July 9.30am – 1pm

Venue: Middlewich Library

The new Middlewich Settlement exhibition will be taking shape in Middlewich Library over July. Visitors can come in, see how the exhibition is shaping up and meet some of the people involved.

The Handling collection is made up of actual objects found in Middlewich and some reproductions so visitors can see the shape and form of the objects.

An invitation for visitors of all ages to get involved with the new exhibition, choosing what items should be included on the New Middlewich Virtual Museum webpage.

Activities for Children and families:

Making roman mosaic tiles to decorate the Library and the new exhibition

The helmet is Roman Middlewich’s emblem, come and make your own. Colour in and stick together your own roman helmet to take home.
