Local lingerie, swimwear and nightwear boutique, See-Saw Lingerie, has been announced as the WINNER of the Stars: Best Shop Awards, commonly known as The Oscars of the Lingerie Industry!
See-Saw Lingerie beat 19 other independent lingerie shops to win the much coveted and fiercely contested ‘Personal Touch Shop’ Award, at a glittering Award ceremony held at the renowned cabaret destination Café de Paris, in London on Thursday 15 November, 2018.
The Stars Underlines Best Shop Awards are the only independent recognition of excellence in intimate apparel, swimwear and legwear retailing in the United Kingdom. Johanna Bolhoven, who has been the owner of See-Saw Lingerie since September 2016, said: “This is such a privilege, it’s a prestigious industry award and we were competing against some very well established and successful lingerie shops.”
See-Saw had to complete a rigorous application process followed by a ‘mystery shoppers’ store visit from the Underlines editorial staff. The criteria for the judges was professionalism, personal service, customer loyalty and trust, based on significant experience and an excellent product offer.
Of See-Saw the judges said: “A very special boutique that has a special place in its community and was taken over in 2016 by Johanna as she could not face that the shop would close after a proud 75-year history in Hale. Johanna continues a very proud tradition in a very contemporary and civic-minded manner. This is one of the most fiercely subscribed categories and it’s the one-to-one personal service and trust that sets the winning shop apart.”
See-Saw was able to cite it’s fundraising work for chosen charities, Prevent Breast Cancer and The Christie, and it’s campaign to raise money for the village Christmas lights, among its key achievements over the last 12-months.
Johanna continues: “This year we celebrated 27 YEARS in business and we put our success down to the customer service that has won us a loyal band of customers. We aim to provide a personalised service with special attention to detail, and that makes a customer’s engagment with us that little bit more special.”
