Care Company on a mission to mark important anniversary

Award-winning Cheshire homecare and supported living care provider, Compassionate Care Group, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a staff raffle and by supporting a local charity.

The kind-hearted company, based in Ashley, held a staff raffle throughout October and November, with a fantastic first prize of £1,000. All money raised was matched by the company and donated to Wood Street Mission, a Manchester-based charity nominated by support worker, Deborah Morley, who won the raffle.

Wood Street Mission supports children and families living on low incomes in Manchester and Salford.

In addition to offering practical help, the charity provides struggling families with children’s clothes, bedding, baby equipment, toys and books. In the run-up to Christmas, the charity has also been busy collecting new toys, gifts and selection boxes for local children in need.

Amanda Stoneham, Compassionate Care’s CEO, visited the project recently and witnessed the team in action.

She said: “Having personally been a recipient of such charities during my childhood, it means a lot to me be able to support the project and give back. The team at Wood Street works tirelessly all year round, not just at Christmas, and has such a huge positive impact on so many lives”.

Compassionate Care plans to mark its special anniversary with employees at a summer ball in 2021.

CHESHIRE CARE COMPANY ON A MISSION TO MARK AN IMPORTANT ANNIVERSARY 2 (002)                                                                                          Established in 2010, Compassionate Care has gone from humble beginnings to a thriving business and operates from a beautiful, converted farmhouse in the Cheshire countryside.

Amanda explained: “When I first started out, I was the company’s sole carer, but over the last decade, and in particular the last nine months during the pandemic, Compassionate Care has grown beyond belief. We now employ 75 carers and 60 support workers and 20 office-based staff, many of whom come from the Knutsford and Trafford area.”

The company provides ‘in-home care’ and companionship to more than 180 vulnerable adults of all ages across Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Derbyshire.

Looking ahead to the next 10 years, further expansion is on the horizon.

The company, which scooped a North West Family Business Award for the People’s Choice of Cheshire, is now looking to extend its services into neighbouring boroughs and is well on its way to achieving this, having agreed tenders in both the Stoke and Wigan areas.

As the company continues to recruit for both carers and support staff, it is close to outgrowing its current office space and is now looking at ways to expand the premises.

Amanda is adamant the imminent expansion will not affect the level of care and empathy provided by the company: “We pride ourselves on delivering the quality of service that both our clients and their families deserve. It’s so important that family members have peace of mind and can relax, safe in the knowledge that their loved ones are receiving the best care possible.

Our rapidly expanding team is fully dedicated to the around-the-clock coordination of the physical, mental and emotional needs of all of our clients, and our greatest reward is delivering the highest quality care with the utmost compassion to those who need it most.”
