New Virtual Golf Experience is Coming to Cheshire
A new, state-of-the-art Golf Simulator experience is coming to Cheshire in the New Year.
Based at Marton Meadows Golf Club, in the village of Marton near Macclesfield, two new Golf Simulators will offer a bespoke, indoor electronic golfing experience above and beyond what is currently available in the region.

The nine-hole golf course is entering its second year of trading after being taken over by Kyle and Kelle Hares in 2017. An unused outbuilding is being converted into a dedicated Golf Simulator venue.
Chad Parker, course manager, said: “This is a small club with big ideas. We’ve seen a significant rise in the demand for indoor golf and saw an opportunity to add golf simulators to our on-site facilities.
The Golf Simulators can be used during 1:1 training; group sessions or by individual golfers wishing to improve their technique using their own equipment.

The software can play sports such as darts, bowling, skittles and motor sport and features arcade style games, as well as providing leader board functionality for tournaments and competitions, introducing a new social element to our facilities.”
The next generation software will allow golfers to drive off the tee; hit fairway shots, pitch, chip and putt the ball on green grade astro-turf. Whilst many golf simulators only focus on driving, the new simulators incorporate sophisticated underfloor sensors to allow for accurate putting readings.
The dual stereoscopic high-speed camera system captures club face, swing path and launch angle. Camera sensors located on the floor, walls and ceiling take 1000 picture frames per second of the golf ball, capturing highly accurate readings to provide golfers with exceptional ball data including: ball speed, initial starting direction, spin and impact location.
The detailed analysis of every shot includes club path, club face alignment, angle of attack, impact location on the club and swing speed. All data can be saved and used for comparison purposes.

Playing in real-time.
After every shot the simulation instantly flies, utilising impressive graphics and without the 2-3 second lag often experienced on other simulators, along the ball’s trajectory to where the ball ends ready for the next shot. What’s more, the putting turf used in the simulator bays will be the same grade as used on a USGA putting green, so when playing it will feel as realistic as possible.
The new Golf Simulators will be available in the New Year with an official opening planned for mid-January 2020. Bookings will be managed through the Club’s website.
With more than 200k pre-designed golf courses to choose from and visually stunning high definition graphics displayed on widescreen ultra HD screens, the new indoor virtual experience promises to be an exciting addition to Marton Meadows Golf Course.
