Rachel collected the award at the Network She International Women’s Day Awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Chester, fighting off strong competition from other nationwide businesses.
She has also been shortlisted for the North West Young Pro Media and Marketing Professional Award.
Rachel, 34, has undergone two major open-heart surgeries, neither of which have impeded her enthusiasm, endurance and drive for her successful business.
She lives in Congleton and set up her own publishing company in 2004 when the opportunity arose for her to buy a magazine title she had been working on for another publishing firm.
She has had a number of titles in her portfolio, including the successful Vintage Life magazine, which Dragoon Publishing now solely focuses on.
Rachel is a well-known figure in the vintage scene, wearing original and vintage-styled clothing and styling her hair and make-up in a vintage fashion.
Vintage Life magazine has grown from a handbag-sized subscription-only publication to a leading title seen on shelves alongside the likes of Vogue and Tatler and on sale in WH Smith and Sainsbury’s. It will also be on sale in Harrods and London Selfridges stores from May 2015.
Rachel puts her success down to hard work and determination and her belief that anything is possible.
The magazine, which has a huge social media following, with more than 850,000 fans, is based in Dane Mill Business Centre in Congleton and carries articles and features submitted by regular contributors and experts in the vintage field.. www.vintagelifemagazine.com
