Congleton In Bloom’s first ‘volunteer morning’ of the year.

Calling all green-fingered and handy volunteers!

Congleton In Bloom hosts its first volunteer morning of 2022 on Saturday March 05.

Meeting in Congleton Community Garden, Lawton Street from 10am-12noon, there will be a variety of activities to join in with.

Volunteers can do as little, or as much, as they want during this time; the activities include: litter picking, weeding, clearing leaves, planting and cleaning some street signs & furniture.

Those joining in are advised to wear clothing appropriate to anticipated weather conditions and sensible footwear. Everything else; hi-viz vests, litter pickers, sacks, gloves and all other necessary equipment will be provided.

Congleton In Bloom chair, Cllr David Brown said: “The In Bloom team look forward to welcoming new and existing volunteers. We have a busy year ahead as Congleton has been selected to represent the North West region in the RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals in the ‘Large Town’ category, so we are trying to get as many members of the public to join in the monthly volunteer mornings as possible.

Congleton In Bloom relies on community participation and the session will be a great way to help make the town centre garden cleaner and greener and to meet new people at the same time.”
