Tatton Park’s Home Farm will host a brand new event this August Bank Holiday weekend, 24 -26 August. The farm team have planned a traditional weekend of country crafts fitting nicely with their work with traditional breeds of animals.
Skilled local craftsman will be demonstrating their art and giving visitors an insight into their expert and intriguing techniques.
Children will be able to have a go at the skill of the longbow and take part in traditional games including all time favourites the three legged race and tug of war.
Also on the programme are traditional farming demonstrations including milking in the farm’s shippon. Used for milking cows in the past visitors can watch milking demonstrations with Tatton’s very own and very gorgeous Lou Lou the Jersey and Pansy the Ayrshire cows each day. They love showing off their lovely special creamy milk and you will be able to learn more about the milking process.
