Injured ‘free runner’ rescued in Knutsford Town Centre

Firemen lower the injured man from the roof of Lloyds Bank

Police and the Fire Service were called to the town centre of Knutsford today to rescue a young man from the roof of Lloyds Bank in Princess Street.

The man is thought to have been ‘free running’ along the roofs of Princess Street shops and offices when he fell and injured his right leg.

As he was helped into a wheelchair a Go-Pro video camera could be seen strapped to his forehead. Free runners, as they call themselves, are renowned for filming their activities to show on social media sites.

The incident certainly attracted a great deal of attention. Although not everyone was sympathetic to the young man’s fate. “His parents must be very proud” one passer-by commented.

As the injured man is taken to an ambulance the Go-Pro video camera is still strapped to his forehead
