Gear up and take on Cheshire and the peaks for charity

On Sunday 25th September Bruntwood’s charity bike ride, the Ellipse, is returning for its 7th year and is expecting to see hundreds of cyclists set off from Booths Park in Knutsford.

The ride is all about keeping healthy, having fun and making a difference so the family owned property company is encouraging people of all ages and abilities to sign up and help raise money for local causes.

The event is set to be a great day out; designed to suit all abilities, there are three routes which cater for cycling enthusiasts through to families with children.

For more advanced cyclists, the 100 km Ellipse crosses two county borders and tackles some of the highest climbs in the Peak District before returning to the finish line back at Booths Hall. The Mini Ellipse is a 40 km leisurely ride through the Cheshire country lanes and the 15 km Family Ellipse cuts through Knutsford’s leafy back lanes and is designed for cyclists of all ages.  For the first time this year there will be a timed challenge for the more competitive cyclists in the Ellipse and Mini Ellipse rides.

Julie Ault, property manager at Booths Park said ‘It’s always a fantastic event for everyone who takes part, whether you fancy yourself as a pro cyclist or you’re just looking for a leisurely cycle with the family.’

In the past the event has raised thousands for charity and this year Bruntwood hope to make even more by encouraging everyone with a bike to sign up.

The Ellipse: £35 per person

The 100km ellipse follows a route into the Peak District and takes on some of the famous climbs the national park has to offer including the challenging Brickworks and the beautiful Goyt Valley before winding its way back to Knutsford along the Cheshire Lanes. This ride will feature nearly 1500m of climbing including a timed challenge on Artist’s Lane in Alderley Edge.

The Mini Ellipse: £20.00

The 40km mini ellipse passes through the scenic Cheshire countryside and is aimed towards more recreational cyclists. Nevertheless, it still features the Artist’s Lane timed challenge for the more competitive cyclists.

The Family Ellipse: £5.00

The Family Ellipse is a leisurely 15km ride through Knutsford’s back lanes and is designed for the whole family. Please note that participants under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
