Grange School sixth-form rowing star, Emily Ford, is proudly sporting silver and bronze medals after representing Great Britain at the Youth Olympics in Australia.

Emily joined 1700 athletes, representing 30 nations across 17 Olympic sports. She competed in three boat types; the single scull; the quadruple scull and the rowing eight.
She achieved her silver medal in the quadruple scull and finished fifth overall in the single scull. She then swapped two blades for one, rowing her way to a bronze medal in the eight.
This was a remarkable effort, given the soaring heat and the fact she had to race six times each day over the full Olympic distance of 2000 metres.
“I have no doubt that the experience gained at the Youth Olympics will help our young athletes greatly on their journey towards pursuing a place on Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and as they make the transition to senior international sportsmen and women, some of them in time for the 2014 Commonwealth Games on home soil in Glasgow,” said Team GB Chef de Mission, Mark England.
