Cheshire East Council is proposing to close Hurdsfield and Weston libraries in Macclesfield. The main library in the town centre will remain.
Hurdsfield Library, which celebrated its 50th birthday last year, is open for only 9-hrs per week and has 90 active users. Weston Library, situated in a small room at the Weston Community Centre is open for 11-hrs but only has 47 active users.
The proposed closure will deliver annual savings of £20,000.
An online questionnaire can be completed at www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/pdf/customer_consultation_Hurdsfield_and_Weston_Jan_2013.pdf The responses will be analysed during February and the results announced in March.
