New Moon in Manchester

David Mooney of Cheshire-based ‘New Moon Pub Co’, is returning to his birthplace –Manchester- where he will open his fifth venue in 3 years.

David is the chef patron and co-owner of the New Moon Pub Company with business partner and ex Living Ventures director, Paul Newman.

The company will be launching its firstManchesterventure, Beef & Pudding, promising an “urban pub and kitchen”.

David is a serial media celebrity with a 10-part series forNorth Westregional TV ‘Food Hunter’. More recently he filmed ‘Perfect’ for Sky TV as a judge. Radio work includes guest spots on food for BBC Radio Five Live.

Business partner Paul Newman is an experienced North West-based restaurateur who was a founder member and director withManchesterdominant Living Ventures. Paul was responsible for the launch of The Living Room concept.

Formerly The Crown on Booth Street, Beef & Pudding will provide the perfect platform to showcase the exquisite produce that is David Mooney’s passion “We are diligent about using premium quality produce and, where possible, source products locally.”

The new name, Beef and Pudding, is inspired by the location, close toSt Peter’s Square, and is a reference to a famed caricature of the Peterloo Massacre by George Cruikshank, where a soldier says: “Give them no quarter, they want to take our beef and pudding from us.”
