Despite rumours in the village, there are no plans to close the branch of the Nat West Bank in Prestbury.
The rumours started after customers in the village were telephoned and asked about the branch’s service.
“The feedback-gathering by telephone is done for every branch in the country and is used to score the individual branches on how well they are serving and helping customers,” a head office spokesman told us. “There are no plans to close the branch,” he added.
