On Saturday May 12, Redesmere Sailing Club is offering visitors an opportunity to experience sailing on Redesmere Lake which is set in beautiful countryside not far from Capesthorne Hall.
The informal event is designed to show the club’s activities to potential members and to offer visitors the opportunity for a trial sail with an experienced sailor if they wish. No previous experience of sailing is required to join the club as it offers training courses and facilities and there’s no need to buy a boat as the Club maintains a fleet of boats which are available to members to sail free of charge.
The club is very inclusive and encourages diversity. This year we are promoting Sport England’s ‘This Girl Can’ initiative and are seeking to increase female participation in sailing at all levels and at all ages.
The event is free and there’s no need to book, just come along any time between 10 am and 4 pm. Individuals and families are all equally welcome. Our bar and galley will be open throughout the day for hot and cold refreshments.
