Cheshire children’s charity, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, was joined by 150 ladies for an afternoon of tea, cakes and fashion at Mere Court Hotel recently.
The brainchild of Patron, Catherine Manford, and Bright & Beautiful’s Faye McDonough, who wanted to raise funds for the charity, the event raised an impressive £5,500 on the day.
CAFT’s Julie Gray hosted the event and introduced vocalist Andy Ellison who entertained the guests throughout their tea with some smooth swing tunes, kindly donating his time free of charge.
Simon, Jordan and Christian from Hale Personal Trainers were on hand to sell raffle tickets and charm the ladies throughout the event.
Julie Gray was delighted with the day’s activities “Everyone had a wonderful time and came away with a bargain, it is definitely an event we would like to repeat next year.
We’re now looking forward to our Ladies Lunch event at The Mere on 26th June and many ladies attending the Afternoon Tea have already booked their tickets! We really can’t thank everyone who attended enough, the money they have raised will provide once in a lifetime holidays to local children in desperate need.”
Each guest also left with a jam-packed (quite literally) goodie bag which included items donated by Clarins at Rackhams and tea from Twinings.
A pre-loved fashion show was expertly staged, including designer pieces from celebrities including Jenny Powell and Corrie’s Sally Dynevor. The clothes were stylishly modelled by volunteers including CAFT Patron Suzan Holder and Faye McDonough.
