There are more singing programmes on television these days than you can shake a stick at – and it is little wonder – singing is so good for you on so many different levels.
But did you know there’s a fabulous new women’s singing group based in Mottram St Andrew?
Launched at the end of September 2016, BackBeat A Cappella specialises in singing 4-part close harmony (without accompaniment) and is encouraging women from the local area to join in their fun and informative Wednesday evening rehearsals.
There are four voice parts to try, ranging from low to high so there’s something in there for everyone, even those who say they can’t sing! BackBeat’s range of repertoire songs includes current modern arrangements as well as some classics and one or two unusual titles too.
There’s instruction on breathing, posture, musical interpretation and much more….not to forget the sociable aspect of enjoying some regular “ME” time each week, making new friends and exploring a wonderful new pastime.
