Cheshire-based Timpson has bought the 120-shops of the franchised photo chain Snappy Snaps for an undisclosed sum.
Timpson has over 750 shoe repair, key cutting and watch repair shops and also owns 200 Max Spielmann photo outlets that are mainly based in the north of England.
Snappy Snaps, founded in 1981, has a prominent position in the photo processing market in central London and throughout the South East.
“We will continue with the well-known Snappy Snaps brand and its successful franchise format,” said Timpson chief executive, James Timpson. “Since we bought Max Spielmann 4-years ago, the shops have been transformed from a traditional photo processor into a very successful photo format specialising in passport photos, portraits and photo gifts. Snappy Snaps have also kept ahead of trends in the digital market and their geographical distribution is a perfect fit with Max Spielmann,” he added.
