Widnes Vikings’ 2013 away strip will officially go on sale at the Vikings Superstore (within Tesco Extra) from Saturday 26th Jan).
Co-designed by the club’s long term partner and key sponsor, Maltacourt Global Logistics, Vikings’ on the road apparel for Super League XVIII is based on the Maltacourt logo. The strip makes Widnes one of the first clubs ever to adopt a company’s colours as its own, in recognition of the close relationship between the global logistics experts who also played a major role in the recent acquisition of Gareth Hock.
Off the pitch, Maltacourt have also donated both time and money in support of the club’s charitable Valhalla Foundation, to get their Healthy Heart project up and running, and fund a full time community worker. The project sees team members and the club’s own youth development team working in schools across the borough to set an example in tackling obesity and other important issues.
“The club is defined by its relationships – with the community and its fans – and they’re always looking to push the boundaries of what is possible,” added Matt. “I think that’s why we work so well together.”
“I’m delighted with the progress the Vikings are making, our partnership in particular continues to evolve and show real value within the community. It’s important for the whole area that our team does well and we were more than happy to play our part in helping to bring innovations, and signings like Gareth, to the club.”
