Students completing the BTEC Level 2 Contact Centre Operations course at Warrington Collegiate are celebrating 100% success. Not only have they achieved their qualification but they have also all been either offered employment with Golden Gates Housing Trust and General Insurance Distribution Ltd or gone on to further study and support with Golden Gates Direct.
Warrington Collegiate tutor and course leader, Mel Cooke is proud and delighted saying, “All these students were returning to learn, having either been out of work for some time or not been able to find employment after fulltime education. They faced a real challenge as being out of work, even for a short time can be really demoralising and damaging to your confidence.”
A lack of work experience was the barrier that many of the students faced in their bid for employment. The outstanding success of the course has transformed the students’ hopes and dreams giving them a positive outlook for the future.
22 year old Kirsty Barnes from Bewsey is thrilled with her new found confidence and telephone consultant role with Golden Gates Leisure, saying, “I’ve really enjoyed the course and made lots of new friends. My interview went really well and I’ve been offered a job which I never dreamed would happen. I would not have achieved this with the help and support of our tutor Mel. Now I’m really excited about starting my new job.”
Chris Roberts, employment adviser with Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) confirms the outstanding success of the course “It was great to see the progress that the candidates made on the course and the standard of the students at interview was extremely high. We are confident that the skills they have gained and the confidence they have built will help them have a brighter future. The candidates who were unsuccessful have been given the opportunity to register with GGHT’s Positive Change initiative. This will entitle them to extra support from GGHT and ensure they receive priority access to upcoming employment, trainee and apprenticeship roles with the Trust and its partners.”
