Venn Digital – www.venndigital.co.uk – a Wilmslow-based independent digital agency, has won ‘Large Digital Agency of the Year’ at the Northern Digital Awards. The 2019 awards also saw Venn shortlisted for ‘Best PPC campaign’ for its work with We Buy Any House.
The shortlist for ‘Large Digital Agency of the Year’ featured a total of 8 Northern Digital Agencies and was created by industry professionals. The awards themselves have been running since 2015 and this win marks Venn’s second since being awarded for their work with Manchester-based brewer JW Lees in 2016.
The awards were created to recognise the very best in digital marketing campaigns and talent across the North while also rewarding the very best websites, app and software. This year, the Northern Digital Awards were held at Leeds Royal Armouries and the panel included industry experts including:
- Mike Deyes – deputy director of marketing, University of Liverpool
- Paul Morris – head of marketing, planning & performance, Tesco Bank
- Erin Portsmouth – head of communications & engagement, NHS
- Duke Tanson – head of digital marketing, Boohoo

Brian Whigham, managing director of Venn Digital, said: “We were up against some tough competition and I’m delighted to have been considered, let alone win. To have true industry experts pick us for Large Digital Agency of the Year is a true testament to the fighting spirit and great attitude shared by every single member at Venn. As we move into our 9th year of business, I’m proud of the team as they continue to strive and be the best they can be.”
2019 looks to be an exciting year for Venn as it looks to launch its new SaaS tech platform. The Tech, Digital and Creative sector is one of the region’s biggest industries, generating 4.1bn annually. Venn is looking to bring talent through the ranks by working with partners to provide technical, design and creative apprenticeships to locals looking for a career in digital.
