On Thursday March 17, Wilmslow library is hosting a brilliant new event – ‘We Are Brontë’ – as part of its project ‘See it Live in Libraries’ in partnership with Cheshire Rural Touring Arts.
Commencing at 7.30pm, ‘We Are Brontë’ is a piece of comic visual theatre inspired by the real and imaginary worlds of Yorkshire’s literary siblings, presented in Publick Transport’s irreverent style.
Physical theatre collides with stand-up, clowning and improvisation as two performers deconstruct not only gothic themes of love, madness, repression and revenge, but also themselves.
Part play, part enquiry in to the act of putting on a play, this promises to be no ordinary Brontë adaptation.
‘We are Bronte’ is particularly relevant as 2016 marks the 200th anniversary of Charlotte Bronte’s birth.
If you would like to purchase tickets for this event they are available online via www.ticketsource.co.uk Book Online | Tickets are also available from Wilmslow Library.
“We Are Brontë is physical theatre at its most superb, and its most silly.” Public Reviews.
